    I broadly agree with Mazin, but he might be over-egging it a little. It's perfectly possible that a mediocre screenwriter can be good at making you think in a way that improves your own writing. Teachers, in other words.

    But thinking about the books and courses I've used, the best ones have been from actual successful writers - Snyder (with some reservations), Linda Aronson, Bill Martell. And of course our own Phil.
