Writing Comedy for the BBC

The BBC is looking for writers hailing who want to write comedy for television. In particular it wants writers “who have a passion for TV Comedy, a strong individual and funny voice and excellent characterisation skills”.

Scriptapalooza 11th Annual Screenwriting Competition Announced

Scriptapalooza is inviting submissions for its 2009 International Screenplay Competition. The deadline is April 15 2009, but early bird submissions need to be submitted by January 5. 

 

Idyllwild Offers $25,000 Scholarship For Screenwriting Teenager

Teenagers are being asked to write an ending to a screenplay for a chance to win a scholarship to the Idyllwild Arts Academy in California. 

 

Two Competitions Call For Entries: General And Horror

Two calls for entries to screenwriting competitions have surfaced over the past few days. The BlueCat Screenwriting Competition is open to feature length screenplays in any genre, while the DarkScrawl competition has a horror and supernatural theme.

While entries for BlueCat don’t close until April 1, 2009, its first early bird deadline is December 1. For DarkScrawl, entries must be submitted by January 31 2009.
