Default Linda Seger:Creating Unforgetable Characters

I highly recommend this book. It is very helpful and it's not an expensive book.

If you want to check it out go here. http://www.amazon.com/Creating-Unfor.../dp/0805011714

Interesting, considering the buildup she's been getting around here on other threads.

<looks up Syd Field>

Even less in the way of credits. Hmmmmmmmmmmm.

Screenwriting Goldmine Method
Screenwriting Course Download The "Screenwriting Goldmine Guide to Writing a Screenplay" is a simple to use, utterly comprehensive, step by step method for going from the horrors of a blank page all the way through to a highly readable - and very commercial - first draft. It's based on my seventeen years as a professional screenwriter/script editor, and it's a direct transcription of the method I use to write my own screenplays. Simply put, it works! (Over 2,000 copies sold to date!) Everyday low price- find out more here.

I broadly agree with Mazin, but he might be over-egging it a little. It's perfectly possible that a mediocre screenwriter can be good at making you think in a way that improves your own writing. Teachers, in other words.

But thinking about the books and courses I've used, the best ones have been from actual successful writers - Snyder (with some reservations), Linda Aronson, Bill Martell. And of course our own Phil.
