  • Men's Web site looking for feature lifestyle/humor freelancers (Lower East Side)
We run a widely read (about 1.7 million readers/month) men's interest Web site and we have a need for some new freelancers. We're looking for writers who understand working online as well as what people want to read online (what your friends are sharing on Facebook/Twitter/etc) and who know the feature "list" space (think Cracked, Mental Floss). Most specifically, we're looking for writers who are either:

    A) Extremely competent in stuff like gadgets, fashion, mixology, or cooking (with a proven track record and the writing credits to back it up)
    or
    B) Funny and able to come up with article concepts that are relatable and fall under the "lifestyle" genre (worst places to take a girl on a first date, what not to say through social media, etc)

All writers should have a dash of wit and an understanding of the types of articles that will get traffic. We have a very competent social media team who promotes our articles through the bigger SM sites, so all we need from you is content that will be witty, grammatically strong, and good at coming up with article concepts that we can say yes or no to.

If you're a good fit and your articles gain traction, there'll be a lot of opportunity to write. We'd like to have someone who'll be able to contribute a couple times a week once we get a good feel for what you can do. And obviously this is a telecommute position.

Please send an email with your credentials. If we like you, we'll reply and ask you to take a look at the site and come up with some article ideas. And then we'll be in business.

Look forward to hearing from you. - Chris
