I’m out of it, finally. Far later than was humanly decent, the producer finally ring me up to tell me things are good, and he’s sorry he hasn’t called, but there’s been another firefight on another episode, and he’s been busy, and he thought my ep was great and wasn’t worried, and just hadn’t got round to sorting me out, and here are my notes and I should get cracking with the next draft and speak soon bye…

 Three minute phone call in all? After a four day wait?

Pointless to get annoyed. The news is good. The suspense was annoying. And the deadline combined with the lateness of the notes will slaughter my weekend.

On balance I feel down on the deal. But that’s the way it works. What can you do?
